Demanding to Unify Media Discourse and Transparency, Free Access to Information
Media and NGO representatives have called on the government to adopt transparency in broadcasting news, and not to adopt a policy that safeguards its interests only. These bodies’ officials considered this step as an important tool in positively dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. During a workshop held by the Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) at its premises in Gaza City, they called to have untied efforts in presenting a Palestinian media speech appropriate for the COVID-19 crisis. The workshop was a part of the project “Palestinian civil society organizations Perspectives to face future challenges” implemented in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Palestine.

International community shows outstanding support to the UN Palestine Refugee Agency
26 June 2019- New York- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) received the outstanding support of the representatives of states and institutions at its annual international Pledging Conference held on 25 June in New York. Representatives of states and institutions unanimously commended the Agency’s role in preserving the rights and dignity of Palestine refugees and praised its staff members for their commitment in support of the human development of 5.4 million Palestine refugees in the Near East. UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl stated, “Today in New York, we witnessed another remarkable mobilization and great generosity in support of UNRWA. I am deeply grateful for the trust of United Nations (UN) member states, for the pledges of more than US$ 110 million, and for the commitment to the dignity and rights of Palestine refugees.”
