NDC Holds a Two-day Rapid Needs Assessment Workshop for Palestinian NGOs in the Gaza Strip
On March 3 and 4, the NGO Development Center (NDC) held a two-day rapid needs assessment workshop for 47 Palestinian NGOs working in the sectors of Health and rehabilitation, Agriculture, Social Services and Education at the Roots Restaurant in Gaza City. It is important to note that this was the first needs assessment for and by local Palestinian NGOs since the Israeli offensive which began on December 27, 2008.

At 9:00 am on Wednesday, 5 March 2009, the Israeli High Court of Justice will hear the petition brought by the General Director of Al-Haq, Shawan Jabarin, with the help of attorney Michael Sfard, seeking to overturn the travel ban imposed on Mr. Jabarin by the Israeli occupying authorities, in time for him to be able to attend award ceremony for the Dutch Prize for Human Rights Defenders, the ‘Geuzenpenning,’ honoring Al-Haq and B’Tselem, to be held 13 March 2009 in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands.
 
 
The Fact-Finding Mission to Investigate Israeli War Crimes Concludes Its Works in Gaza on Friday
The fact-finding mission of the League of Arab Nations mandated by the League of Arab Nations to investigate war crimes committed by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) during the latest offensive on the Gaza Strip is going to finish its works in the Gaza Strip on Friday, 27 February 2009, with a tour in Rafah to watch the destruction caused by IOF to the town.
 
 
NDC Holds an Event to Present and Dissiminate the Resource Kit of the Code
On February 7, 2009, the NGO Development Center (NDC) held an event to present and disseminate the resource kit of the Palestinian NGOs Code of Conduct. The event targeted NGOs that were signatories to the Code, However, non-signatories took part, whereby they signed the Code at the event and received the Kit. Over 180 NGOs representing various sectors and governorates in the West Bank attended the event.

NDC Signs Grant Implementation Agreements with 25 NGOs working in the field of Human Right and Good Governance
<p align="justify"> On Thursday, December 18, 2008, NDC signed Grant Implementation Agreements (GIAs) with 25 NGOs working in the field of Human Rights and Good Governance in the Palestinian Occupied Territories (oPt) for a total amount of USD 5,280,000. The singing ceremony took place at NDC office in Al Ram and Gaza office as well. The event included the attendance of Mr. Zahi Khouri, NDC Chairman, Mr. Ghassan Kasabreh, NDC Director, who singed the GIAs with the beneficiary NGOs, and Mr. Mario Carera, SDC Director. </p>
 
 
DCI deeply concerned as Israel denies entry to SR Falk
[RAMALLAH, 15 December 2008] – DCI-Palestine is deeply concerned by news received this morning from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Ramallah that the UN Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territory, Professor Richard Falk, was denied entry into Israel and deported to Switzerland by the Israeli authorities.

PCHR Warns of Further Deterioration to Humanitarian Conditions in the Gaza Strip
PCHR calls upon the international community, particularly the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, United Nations agencies and all international humanitarian organizations, to immediately intervene and exert pressure on Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) to reopen border crossings of the Gaza Strip, whose closure has caused further deterioration to living conditions of approximately 1.5 million Palestinians, who have suffered from shortages in foods, medicines and other basic needs, including electricity and fuel supplies.
