UN officials call for an immediate halt to demolitions in East Jerusalem and respect for international law
Jerusalem, 3 May 2019- Today, the Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Jamie McGoldrick called for an immediate halt to the Israeli authorities’ destruction of Palestinian-owned property in East Jerusalem.

US$350 million appeal to address critical humanitarian needs of Palestinians launched
Ramallah, 17 December 2018: Today, the Minister of Social Development of the State of Palestine, H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shaer, and the Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Jamie McGoldrick, launched the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) for 2019 in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).

US$ 90 Million to Boost Palestinian Economic Opportunities and Livelihoods
In response to an increasingly difficult situation, the World Bank’s Board recommended today the allocation of US$90 million to accelerate much-needed economic welfare for the Palestinian people, an increase from its yearly disbursement of US$55 million. The funds, in the form of grants, will be transferred from the Bank’s own income to the dedicated Trust Fund for Gaza and West Bank.
EU External Investment Plan launched
The European Union and Palestine have launched today the EU External Investment Plan (EIP) to encourage investments promoting an inclusive growth, job creation and sustainable development and to tackle some of Palestine internal constraint via an enhanced policy dialogue on business climate issues. The launching event was held this morning in Ramallah, Palestine, in the presence of Mr Shukri Bishara, Minister of Finance and Planning. The conference brought together national authorities, private sector companies, International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and other stakeholders to discuss investment opportunities and ways to overcome remaining barriers in accessing funds.
Nominations for AGFUND International Prize begin Now: One Million Dollar to reward "No Poverty" projects
The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) announces the first goal of the SDGs 2030 " End of poverty in all its forms everywhere " as subject for the 2018 AGFUND International Prize 2018 and invites the United Nations, international and regional organizations, ministries and public institutions, social business enterprises, national NGOs, individuals and development actors worldwide to submit nominations for the Prize. AGFUND Prize amounts to US$1,000,000, divided into four categories; the First category prize (US$ 400,000), specified for projects implemented by UN agencies or international and regional NGOs, the Second category prize (US$ 300,000), specified for projects implemented by national NGOs, the Third category prize (US$ 200,000), specified for projects implemented by governmental bodies (ministries and public institutions) or social business enterprises and the Fourth category prize (US$ 100,000), specified for projects initiated, funded and/or implemented by individuals.

New assistance package for Palestine : EU strongly committed to support socio-economic revival of East-Jerusalem
Brussels, 31 January 2018- The EU will fund projects to increase the resilience of locals and support the Palestinian presence in the city, through targeted measures benefiting young people and the private sector. The European Commission has adopted a new €42.5 million assistance package benefiting Palestinians, including substantial support in East Jerusalem.
Women journalists legal empowerment workshop in Gaza
The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) concluded a training workshop on legal empowerment in Gaza City, with the participation of a number of Palestinian female journalists working in media institutions in Gaza Strip. The two-day training focused on the reality and challenges facing women journalists in their work, and enhances their legal empowerment, as well as the rights of Palestinian women in the system of local legislation, and the nature of violations against them in Palestine.
