The Delegation of the European Commission to the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem is seeking proposals for activities and initiatives that support human rights and democracy under EIDHR II Country-Based Support Scheme Programme 2007 & 2008, mainly strengthening the role of civil society in promoting human rights , democratic reform and rule of law as well as developing strengthening the basis for civil society dialogue and democratic discourse through freedom of association and freedom of expression with particular emphasis on the media environment. The financial assistance is allocated from the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHRII)- Programme 2007 & 2008 of the European Communities.
