The purpose of FISONG “civic participation” 2017 is to support innovative practices that contribute to a democratic renewal for the most vulnerable populations.
In 2007, AFD adopted an instrument dedicated to the financing of innovative projects initiated by international solidarity organizations: the Sectoral Innovation Facility for NGOs (FISONG).
Through this FISONG, AFD looks for possible links between its interventions and the actions of NGOs, upstream, during or after projects. The proposals presented by the NGOs should allow and energize the participation of excluded populations. It will be a matter of promoting in a sustainable way the participation of these populations in the public life of the community, at the local, regional or national level.
Objectives
Better take into account the operational specificities of NGOs;
- Solicit their capacity for innovation on the ground within the framework of AFD’s sectoral priorities;
- Promote sectoral dialogue and create synergies between the Agency and international solidarity organizations on sectors and geographies of common interest.
- Funding Information
The amount allocated by the AFD to this call for proposals amounts to 2.5 million euros for the financing of a priori 3 projects with an average duration of 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
Proposals submitted by NGOs should enable and sustainably promote the participation of excluded and / or discriminated populations in the formulation of public policies and community decision-making at local, regional or national level.
