Preserving Endangered Traditional Crafts in the State of Palestine - Call for Applications for Small Grants for Collectives and Associations

Deadline for applications: 2 November 2025

UNESCO, with generous support from the European Union, is pleased to launch an open call for grants to support the preservation and revitalization of endangered traditional crafts in Palestine. This initiative seeks to empower Palestinian designers, craftspeople, and registered associations to safeguard cultural heritage while reimagining it for contemporary audiences and markets.

The programme focuses on six crafts at risk of disappearing—glass blowing, looming, pottery, mother-of-pearl, olivewood carving, and bamboo. Applicants are invited to submit creative proposals that go beyond safeguarding, blending tradition with innovative design, and making these crafts viable within today’s Palestinian creative economy. Selected projects will not only receive financial support but also gain exposure through networking opportunities and a final exhibition in spring/summer 2026.

Applications are open to two categories: collaborative teams of designers and craftspeople (up to $8,000), and officially registered craft associations (up to $10,000) in the State of Palestine. Proposals should highlight innovation, cultural authenticity, and market relevance, while contributing to employment opportunities and knowledge transfer.

The deadline for submission is 2 November 2025, by midnight (Palestine time). For full details on eligibility and how to apply, please Click Here
