More than 300 participants attended the International conference that was organized by the Treatment & rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture “TRC” in partnership with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Palestine “OCHA” to commemorate the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture - 26th of June.
The event was held in the Best Eastern Hotel in Ramallah city on the 27th of June 2011. The event is organized within the frame of a 3-year EC co-funded project titled “Sustaining and enhancing comprehensive service delivery for Victims of Torture” in the West Bank”. The European Union is contributing 80% of the project’s budget of an amount of 1,200,000 Euros. The conference was organized to come up with recommendations and action plans that will contribute to the ratification of UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment-UNCAT.
