ADWAR signs a project agreement to empower Bedouin women in decision-making and accountability within local councils

 
The project targets Bedouin women in the 4 Bedouin communities’ south of Hebron that are classified C and suffer from negligence and lack of level of services provided by Palestinian authority institutions.
 
The projects’ aim is represented in developing local good governance, accountabilities’ values and practices in C marginalized Bedouin areas as well as gender issues, in order to fulfill women needs and improve services reality. It also will enhance Bedouin women’s political participation within accountability campaigns and awareness of the Palestinian community especially Bedouin   community about the non-traditional roles of women within reaching nontraditional positions in local councils.
The project includes several activities such as capacity building program, accountability dialogue meetings with decision makers, and media episodes.
 
 
As for her part AlKawasmeh pointed out that this project aims at achieving the political program objectives in specific redeeming gender gaps and empowering women of accountability tools in order to enhance the reality of services and reach gender equity.
ADWAR’s head of board of directors Mrs.Nadia Kittana stated that this project is very important especially in this preparatory period of elections, as it will contribute to enhance accountability and good governance political democratic practices.
