On Thursday, September 21, 2023, Bayader Association for Environment and Development held an event to launch the project "Improving the Psychological and Social Well-being of Women and Children Most in Need in Khanyounis Governorate" as part of the "Emergency Social Services Support – Phase I: Cash for Service" project. This initiative is under the management and implementation of the Palestinian NGO Development Center (NDC) and is generously funded by the World Bank.

The project's main objective is to enhance the capacity of young individuals to obtain temporary employment opportunities. This is achieved through their recruitment and the acquisition of skills in psychological and social support, behavioral health, and mental health for women and children. The project aims to employ a total of 80 psychological and social specialists in two phases, each lasting six months. Temporary employment contracts have been signed with 40 graduates and 7 hosting institutions in partnership with Bayader Association. The association itself will serve as the eighth hosting center. Graduates will be distributed throughout the Khanyounis Governorate to provide psychological and social services and case management for various segments of the community.

During the speech delivered by the Bayader Association for Environment and Development, Eng. Wajih Abu Lahia, the Chairman of the Board, welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude to the organizers at the Palestinian NGO Development Center NDC. He particularly acknowledged the contributions of Eng. Alaa Al-Ghalayini, Gaza Program Manafer at the NDC, and Eng. Monzer Abdul Hadi, the Program Manager at NDC, for selecting Bayader Association as a partner for project implementation.
