Established by local women in 1984, the Elderly Center of Beit Sahour has grown from space in a rental home to a social, medical, and cultural center serving more than 150 members of our tight-knit community each weekday. Our center is a national model, cited by President Mahmoud Abbas, and a training outlet for other elder centers throughout the occupied territories. With just a handful of staff—and operating largely on donations—the center provides free medical care, traditional meals at reduced prices, and a place to preserve our traditions which have suffered under the West Bank's occupation.
