Patient’s Friends Society – Jerusalem” (PFS) is a Palestinian non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1980 by Palestinian academics and health professionals. PFS is a non-profit charity (Palestinian registration# is QR-1418-M) (Israeli registration# is 58-000266-5).
PFS has been a member of The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) since 2005 and has been a proud member of Reach to Recovery International (RRI) since 2007 and a member of MAX Foundation since 2014, and Partnered with ABC Global Alliance 2019, PFS is also a member of The Union of Charitable Societies – Jerusalem (UCS).
In July 2006, PFS received the International Achievement Award from the American Cancer Society for being an exemplary model of excellence in partnership with the global fight against cancer.
PFS is dedicated to providing public health services for Palestinians through health education and counseling, early disease detection through affordable health screening examinations, and by conducting research.
PFS collects and publishes data based on services delivered in the field. PFS also collects data within public health research areas to better understand public needs. With this knowledge, PFS is able to develop and implement new and innovative activities for the benefit of the Palestinian people.
