About Noor society for People with Disabilities
Noor Association for Persons with Disabilities is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem. Established to serve and advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, the association provides holistic support through rehabilitation, education, and community integration programs.

The organization works closely with children and adults with disabilities, as well as their families, to promote inclusion, dignity, and independence. Noor Association also implements women-led economic empowerment initiatives, especially targeting mothers of children with disabilities, by offering training, small business support, and local product development such as traditional Palestinian embroidery.

With a strong presence in the refugee camps of Bethlehem, Noor Association is committed to building an inclusive society by fostering partnerships, developing community-based services, and raising awareness on disability rights.

History
Noor society for People with Disabilities was founded in 2012 in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem, by a group of dedicated mothers of children with disabilities who sought to create a supportive and inclusive environment for their children and others facing similar challenges.

What began as a grassroots initiative to provide basic rehabilitation and support services has since grown into a recognized community-based organization serving hundreds of individuals and families. Over the years, Noor Association has expanded its programs to include educational support, psychosocial services, vocational training, and economic empowerment, with a particular focus on refugee populations and marginalized groups.

The organization’s development was driven by the urgent need for accessible, culturally appropriate services in a context of limited resources and ongoing social and economic hardship. Today, Noor Association continues to grow, building strong partnerships and advocating for the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities across the Bethlehem area.

Vision
Noor society envisions a society where persons with disabilities are fully included, empowered, and able to live with dignity and independence. We aspire to break down barriers, challenge stigma, and create a supportive environment in which every individual—regardless of ability—has equal opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive within their community.

Mission
The mission of Noor society is to support, empower, and advocate for persons with disabilities—especially in refugee and marginalized communities—by providing accessible rehabilitation services, inclusive education, psychosocial support, and sustainable economic empowerment opportunities.

We are committed to fostering community awareness, building inclusive environments, and promoting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities through partnerships, grassroots action, and holistic, family-centered approaches.
