The book comes as a result of a comprehensive study of all localities in the Hebron Governorate, which aims at depicting the overall living condition in the governorate and presenting developmental plans to assist in developing the livelihood of the population in the area. It was accomplished through the ‘Village Profiles and Azahar Needs Assessment for Hebron Governorate’; a project funded by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) and the Azahar Program.

he Socio-Economic and Food Security Atlas is one of the first Atlases produced which relates to food security issues at the national level in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and in the Arab world. This new tool will be part of the already existing Food Security Monitoring System that is implemented by the WFP, Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) as to combat poverty and improve the food security status in the oPt.

Dry Land Farming in Palestine

The book discusses ways of developing rainfed agriculture in Palestine, which is identified as the most predominant pattern governing farm systems in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The book is made up of sections, in which the first includes a description of the physical features of raifed agriculture, and the water resources. The second section discusses the socioeconomics of dryland farming in Palestine, while the third discusses Palestinian women and how they play a role in the survival of the family despite the lack of water for farming.

Ruling Palestine

The main focus of Ruling Palestine: A History of the Legally Sanctioned Jewish-Israeli Seizure of Land and Housing in Palestine is the methodical process underlying the Zionist conquest of Palestine and the dispossession and displacement of its indigenous Arab inhabitants, in particular legal instruments and policies relating to colonisation and land acqusition. This process is measured against the standards of relevant international law and UN resolutions.

The study is a resource and reference tool for researchers, journalists, legal experts, human rights advocates and policy makers.

Returning to Kafr Bir'im

This BADIL booklet features the story of the protracted struggle of the Palestinian residents of Kafr Bir'im for return to their village in the Upper Galilee which they were forced to leave in 1948.

In 120 pages, the booklet recounts key events, achievements, obstacles and failures of this struggle through the oral and written narratives of a community who gives a vibrant example of the Palestinian people's quest for ending the Nakba (catastrophe) and injustice almost 60 years on.

Where Villages Stood: Israel’s Continuing Violations of International Law in Occupied Latroun, 1967-2007

Located in the Latroun enclave of the West Bank, north-west of Jerusalem, these three Palestinian villages were razed to the ground by the Israeli army upon its occupation of the area in June 1967, despite the fact that it was met with no resistance. The study presents revealing information unearthed in Israeli government archives, demonstrating the intent behind this destruction. The civilian residents of the villages, numbering up to 10,000, were forcibly transferred out of the area.
