GCMHP CONDEMNS TARGETING THE SITES OF THE UNRWA SUMMER CAMPS

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme, represented by the Board of Directors and staff members, strongly condemns the attack on the site of the UNRWA summer camp in Gaza City. GCMHP requests the government in Gaza to apprehend those responsible for this crime and bring them to justice.
In support of crime prevention, GCMHP expresses its deep concern regarding the escalation of attacks that target the personal and public freedom of all
citizens.

AL-Maqdese today warns of a new declaration from Gadi Shmerlange, West Jerusalem Municipality (JM) official spokesman, as he declared that JM will rent private security companies to participate in implementing the demolition orders which will take place in Silwan, Old City, Biet Hanina, Al-Essawyah and other places.

Jerusalem Municipality’s Mayor press conference

The Jerusalem Municipality Mayor Nir Barkat will hold a press conference to announce Municipality’s strategic plan in order to establish what is called the “King’s Garden” on a land plot in Al-Bustan area in Silwan after the demolition of 88 Palestinian residency buildings. The conference will be held today, Tuesday 02/03/2010 at 15:00.

We however call all local and international human rights organization and UN agencies to practices their responsibilities and act against this dangerous plan.

PCHR Calls for Investigation into Gaza City Murder

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights calls upon the government in Gaza to initiate an immediate investigation into the murder of Hamza Mahmoud al-Shoubaki, age 40, who was abducted by unidentified gunmen on Thursday, 26 February and subsequently died. PCHR reiterates that this murder is part of the state of security chaos and violations of the rule of law plaguing the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).
