History
Thalassemia Patients’ Friends Society (TPFS), a non-profit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of patients, their families and medical professionals concerned about thalassemia in Palestine . TPFS works persistently towards the ultimate goal of “Palestine Free from Thalassemia.” In 1999, TPFS became member at the Thalassemia International Federation (TIF) and thereafter promoted to a full voting member. TPFS is also a member of the Arab Group for Blood Disease. There are about 800 thalassemia patients in the West Bank and Gaza Strip-Palestine. Unfortunately due to the known political reasons, the Gaza Strip ~300 patients’ information details are not accessible for us.
