Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in Gaza and injured another 18 throughout the West Bank. In the West Bank, Palestinians injure a settler. Settlers vandalized around 60 Palestinian olive trees. Access to East Jerusalem for Friday Ramadan prayers remains restricted. In Gaza, movement through Rafah remains limited. Electricity blackouts persist. No exports left Gaza despite the Israeli announcement to ease restrictions on exports in the beginning of Ramadan.

Israeli forces injure 25 Palestinians in the West Bank. Also in the West Bank, 15 Bedouin families forcibly evicted due to settler violence. Four other bedouin families displaced due to demolitions. Violence in Gaza declined. Gaza authorities execute two men. Movement through Rafah Crossing remains limited.

The Jordan Valley: Documenting the Violations of the Israeli Occupation Forces in the Jordan Valley

Complementing an important series published in the past few years by Maan Development Center about the Jordan Valley, this report monitors the Israeli Occupation violations over the period starting from January 2010 until June 2011. These violations are characterized by a set of systematic policies that have resulted in a deliberate demographic fracture in the composition of the Palestinian society in the Jordan Valley. This is to the benefit of settlers and at the expense of the Palestinian land and population.

This week, Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and injured 42 others throughout the oPt. In the West Bank, seven other Palestinians were injured and over 1,000 trees damaged by settlers. Area C demolitions continue. In Gaza, a Palestinian killed in a tunnel-related incident. Movement through Rafah remains limited. Israeli navy seized an international solidarity boat. A Palestinian NGO dissolved by Gaza authorities.

Mapping Study of Civil Society Organisations in the occupied Palestinian territory

In January 2011, the Office of the EU Representative in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) launched the Mapping Study on Civil Society Organisations in the oPt. The study aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of CSOs in the oPt, including their capacity-building needs and recommendations for possible intervention areas to be supported by forthcoming cooperation programmes. The study was finalized in May 2011.

Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in the Public Health Services

This report examines the provision of transparent and equitable health services to Palestinians, concentrating on the public health insurance system. It will review the current procedures of providing health care services in the public sector, the standards and bases of professional ethics of administrators and workers in this sector, and a survey of the extent of information available to the public by the public health sector.

International Charitable Associations and Non Governmental Organizations in Palestine

This study does not address the controversy over the significance of the role of international NGOs and their negative or positive impact on various aspects in Palestine. The Coalition for Integrity and Accountability AMAN conducted this study to examine the work environment of these organizations and the level of transparency and accountability as decisive factors in determining the efficiency of their integrity systems. This is the core mission of AMAN as an organization for transparency and accountability.

In their own Words: A report on the situation facing Palestinian children detained in the Israeli military court system

Each year, approximately 700 Palestinian children as young as 12 years are arrested, interrogated and prosecuted in the Israeli military court system. Credible reports of ill-treatment and torture within the system are common and persistent. This Report covers a six month period between 1 July and 31 December 2010, and is based on the sworn affidavits of 40 children detained in the military court system during this period. In 62.5 percent of these cases, the children were accused of throwing stones.

House Demolitions in Silwan

The focus of this report will be on how the blatantly illegal policy of house demolitions has affected the residents of the Palestinian village of Silwan on the southern slopes of the Old City. This will be done through case studies and personal testimony, but in order to develop a competent understanding of the subject matter and to set the tone for the facts on the ground section 3 will provide a brief overview of the regions political and legal background.

Narrative Documentation of the Technical Assistance Process

This is a narrative publication that documents the “Code of Conduct Technical Assistance” process, which aims at providing and creating guidelines that include some of the best NGO capacity building practices towards good governance. The documentation looked in a systematic manner at the overall context in addition to the traditional practices within organizations and in relation to the values prescribed in the Code of Conduct.
